JAMMU, Feb 1: BJP MLC Vibodh Gupta today called on Governor Satya Pal Malik and thanked him for his historic decision of granting 3 percent reservation to the Pahari community of J&K.
Vibodh told the Governor that through this decision, he had proved how seriously it is working towards solving genuine issue of the poor and marginalized communities of the Jammu & Kashmir state. On this occasion, Vibodh very strongly highlighted the plight of displaced POJK families settled outside Jammu & Kashmir and demanded justice for them.
He appraised the Governor that from past many decades step motherly treatment has been given to some 5300 families from POJK who are presently settled in different parts of the country. They were denied PRC and other compensations such as central assistance provided to families from POJK under Prime Minister Development Package 2015, though they were also uprooted from PoJK by Pakistan Forces, he added.
While highlighting other key issues, Vibodh demanded immediate steps for the promotion of Sanskrit language in the state. For boosting higher education in far flung areas of the State, Vibodh demanded opening up of new degree colleges at Taryath, Darhal, Dangri and Manjakote in Rajouri. While referring to the recruitment process in J&K, Vibodh said that unfair policy of new recruitments under SRO 202 may kindly be abolished as this violates Minimum Wages Rules of Government of J&k.
