Straight Line News Network

Srinagar, Nov 24: Authorities on Saturday seized 11 mobile phones from MLA Hostel-turned-sub-jail, where 33 political leaders are detained since last Sunday, newsagency KNS quoted sources as saying.

They said security personnel searched the rooms of the detained politicians after reports that they were using mobile phones inside their rooms. “During the searches, 11 mobile phones were seized,” they revealed.

“According to jail manual use of mobile phones inside the MLA Hostel is prohibited, action under law will be taken against the violators,” a senior official was quoted by KNS as having said. “On Sunday when these leaders were shifted from Centaur Hotel to MLA Hostel, some of them had objected to frisking by policemen on duty as they were hiding mobile phones,” he revealed.
