2 Drug peddlers arrested in Ganderbal

May 19: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Ganderbal has arrested two drug peddlers at a checkpoint near Sonamarg and seized contraband substance from their possession.

Two persons identified as Abdul Haleem Sheikh resident of Bengal Murshidabad at present Dehli and Pervaiz Ahmad Chopan resident of Check Prang Kangan arrested for the drug offences have been taken to Police Station Sonamarg where they remain in custody.

Officers at the checkpoint have seized 700 grams of charas from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No 02/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sonamarg and investigation has been taken up.
