Bodh Kharboo Club lifts NYK Archery Cup

KARGIL (Ladakh), Dec 28: Bodh Kharboo Archery Club dominated the NYK Archery Cup 2018 by taking away both boys and girls title. The event was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kargil in collaboration with Art and Cultural Organisation Bodh Kharboo Kargil Ladakh.

Bodh Kharboo Club won both boys and girls titles beating Kundik Muslim and Buddhist Archery Club respectively. In all, six Archery teams took part in this event. It was for the first time that the competition held for the girls and the gesture was highly appreciated the local villages.

The LAHDC Kargil Councillor, Khangral Haji Md Qasim was the chief guest while Sonam Tsering Lambardar Bodh Kharboo was guest of honour. Ex Councillor, Tsering Smanla was a special guest.

Praising the role of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Kargil in uplifting the youths and their overall development, Haji Qasim said that Kargil has got ample talent among the young men and women, especially in Archery and Ice Hockey.

He also appreciated the participation by the youth despite bone chilling temperature and thanked Tajamul Aara, district Coordinator Leh and Kargil for organizing such an event at villages Kundik.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, players and the general public, cultural activist and Director Art and  Culture  Organization, Bodh Kharboo Kargil Ladakh, Tsewang Rigzin expect more such activities aiming at the young men and women in near future by NYK.

Later, the chief guest and other distinguished gathering gave away the title trophies and other individual prizes.
