Efforts underway to develop Patnitop as world-class destination

JAMMU, Jan 14: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, K.K. Sharma has said that concerted efforts are underway to develop Patnitop as a world-class tourist destination so that it comes on the international tourist map.

The Advisor was interacting with officers during his visit to Patnitop hill-station. Director Tourism Jammu and other senior officers were accompanying him. Advisor while undertaking a review meeting of various developmental works being undertaken for the development of this tourist spot directed fast-pacing of these. He said that the officers should ensure the timely completion of the various initiatives being taken for development of tourist infra as tourism is the mainstay of our economy and also generator of employment opportunities.

Advisor directed Director Tourism to regularly monitor the implementation of various initiatives being taken under development of tourist circuit in Patnitop and other areas of Jammu division especially those being undertaken under PMDP. Later, the Advisor inspected facilities being provided to the tourists who come to visit the hill-station. He also inspected the functioning of Patnitop Cable Car which has been commissioned some six months back.
