JAMMU, Jan 15: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today said that Jammu and Kashmir is an abode of pluralistic ethos where people from varied cultural backgrounds have co-existed peacefully since centuries.

Advisor was interacting with a group of girl students at ‘Drishti’ girls’ hostel facility at Pounichak Jammu being run by the ‘Seva Bharati’ here on Tuesday evening. Advisor Khan said that J&K is a mini-model of India having seen emergence of great religions, cultures, heritages and civilizations. He impressed upon the youth to work jointly to preserve and promote the peaceful co-existence of all religions, pluralistic ethos and varied cultures in J&K.

On the occasion, the students presented a colourful cultural programme featuring Kashmiri, Ladakhi, Dogri and Punjabi songs. They also presented a skit on ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and harmful effects of use of polythene on humans and environment.
