Krishika bags women’s singles Badminton title

JAMMU, Sept 08: Krishika won women’s singles title outplaying Vaishnavi Sharma in straight sets of 21-14, 21-13 in the ongoing All J&K Ranking/Selection Badminton Championship, organised by J&K Badminton Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.

Krishika made it a double title win when she, pairing with Unnati Jaral, defeated the duo of Niteshi and Rupal in women’s doubles final 2-1 (19-21, 21-16, 21-17).

In the meantime, Unnati Jaral had qualified for the final of under-19 girls singles event and shall be playing against Krishika. Semifinals: Unnati bt Mannu Baloria 21-10, 21-16; Krishika defeated Shambhavi Rajput 21-06, 21-13.

Meanwhile, in boy under-19 single, Bhavya Sharma shall be playing against Nakul Vaid. Semifinals: Bhavya Sharma bt Nakul Vaid 21-10; 21-14, 21-12; Puranjay Sharma bt Sehdev Singh 21-13, 21-14.

Similarly, in under-19 girls singles event, Unnati Jaral and Krishika have qualified for the final. Semifinals: Unnati bt Mannu Baloria 21-10, 21-16; Krishika bt Shambhavi Rajput 21-06, 21-13.

Men’s Singles: Quarterfinals: Raghav Dogra bt Bhavya 21-06, 21-14; Manish Sharma bt Mujeev 21-11, 21-13; Sarabpreet Singh bt Adarsh Singh 21-16, 21-17; Vipul Saini bt Nakul Vaid 21-05, 21-14.
