NC concerned over shrinking industrial activity in J&K; seeks package

 Straight Line News Report

JAMMU Jan 6: National Conference Secretary Rattan Lal Gupta today sought a package for the industrialists, saying that they are passing through extremely tough time with some of the industrialists planning to close their units permanently.

In a statement, issued from Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here, Gupta demanded continuation of the incentives and packages by the local administration as also the Centre for the existing industrial units and time-bound reimbursement of GST collected over the period of time. He referred to the incentives on account of income tax waiver for five years and said this should be re-introduced keeping in view the dwindling industrial activity.

He also expressed concern over large-scale retrenchment of skilled and unskilled work force from local units due to shrinking industrial activity. “Immediate steps are therefore needed to be taken for saving industries as also the work-force”, he added.
