NHM employees resume duties in Shopian

SHOPIAN, FEB 07: National Health Mission (NHM) employees of district Shopian ended their ongoing statewide strike in the district after a meeting with District Development Commissioner Dr Owais Ahmed.

DDC assured that their genuine demands will be communicated to the higher authorities immediately. After assurances from the DDC, all the employees of NHM resumed their duties from Thursday.

The employees had decided to go for a chain hunger strike till the demands for which Govt had given a written assurance in last year’s 34 days long strike were actually met. Th employees protested that commitments and orders remained in papers but there was nothing on ground in reality.
