Police in Sopore today arrested an active terrorist

Sopore, Nov 2: On a credible input police and security forces arrested one active terrorist identified as Danish Tariq Channa resident of Stadium Colony, Baramulla from Sopore area.

Incriminating material including arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession. All these incriminating materials have been taken into records by police in order to probe his complicity in terror crimes.

According to the police records he was affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT and was operating in the areas of Sopore and Baramulla. He was a part of groups involved in planning and executing terror attacks in the area.

Several cases are registered against him including a terror crime case FIR No. 167/2019 pertaining to firing on civilians in Baramulla.

The active terrorist remains in police custody and further investigation in the matter is in progress.
