Poonch XI defeats Young Star by 5-2 in Hockey

POONCH, July 26: The formidable side of Poonch XI today registered a fine 5-2 win against Young Star in the ongoing Poonch Hockey League (PHL), organised by Hockey Poonch under the aegis of Hockey J&K at Sports Stadium, here.

Rogit scored two goals sounding the board in the 36th and 59th minute of the match while Sunil, Navjot and Ravneet contributed one goal each netting the ball in the 6th, 14th and 16th minute of the match respectively. From Young Star, Masoom scored both the goals striking in the 57th and 60th minute of the match.

Senior sportsperson of the district, Dalip Kumar Luthra was special guest in today’s match, who interacted with the teams. Also present were Nirdosh Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Ravinder Singh

Today’s match officiated by the technical panel comprising Gurjot Singh, Gunpreet Singh (umpires), Meenakshi Khajuria and Urvashi Sharma (table referees).

The League tournament is being conducted under the technical supervision of hockey coach, Mukesh Kumar.
