SDM Kangan reviews restoration of essential services

KANGAN, JAN 24: On the directions of District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kangan, Mehraj-ud-din Shah today chaired a meeting to review the snow clearance and restoration of essential services including electricity, road connectivity, drinking water supply and traffic management in the sub-division.

The meeting was attended by engineers of PDD, STD, PWD, PHE, BRO, Irrigation and PMGSY.

While reviewing the restoration of essential services, the SDM directed the BRO to take necessary measure for de-watering of the waterlogged places of Hari Ganwan and Kangan Market. He further directed the officials of PMGSY and R&B to restore roads which are yet to be cleared or are partially cleared post snowfall.

SDM impressed the officials to disseminate the advisory among general public which is already issued by the district administration so that people take necessary precautions in case of heavy snowfall.

SDM issued instructions to the concerned officials to ensure prompt redressal of concerns and issues faced by the people post snowfall by providing them uninterrupted essential services, besides ensuring round the clock monitoring of the situation and keep men and machinery in ready mode to deal with any possible exigency.

He further impressed upon the officers concerned to put in extra efforts for restoration of power supply, drinking water supply, inter and intra-sub-division road connectivity and traffic management.
