SMVDU Inter-House Basketball (Men & Women) tournament concludes

Jammu, May 10: Basketball tournament at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra concludes as the final matches of Basketball were witnessed here, last evening. After a competitive league of matches amongst all the 5 houses, the spectacular finals were played today between Jal and Prithvi in the women’s category and between Aakash and Vayu in the men’s category.

In the men’s finals, Vayu emerged as the triumphant winners over Aakash with a score of 46-30. And in the women’s category, Jal registered an impeccable win with a final score of 25-12. The second runners up were the teams of Jal and Vayu in the men and the women categories respectively.

In this much-awaited competition, the players stepped on to the court to set it ablaze with speed, endurance, magical footwork & skills of dribbling. The finals were officiated by Mr. Sumit Sharma and Mr. Balbir Singh. The basketball tournament of Sarang 2k19 was coordinated by student coordinators Kartik Sharma and Muskaan Sharma. Faculty members Dr. Suparn Sharma, Mr. Mir Irfan Ul Haq, Mr. Ankush Raina and Mr. Rajiv Kumar, Incharge Sports, SMVDU, were present during the ceremony to facilitate the winners. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. D. Mukhopadhyay and Dean Student welfare, Dr. Yugal Khajuria congratulated all the winners.
