State Badminton meet gets underway in Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 25: Organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Badminton Association, 45th State Badminton Championship got under way at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.

The event declared open by Secretary J&K State Sports Concil (JKSSC), Dr. Naseem Javed Choudhary, who was chief guest. He interacted with the participants from different districts of the state.

Around 370 participants in different age groups and categories have confirmed their participation in this event. Among the others present were Dr. OD.Sharma (Chairman of the Association), Haji Abdul Qayoom (Chief Sports Officer of JKSSC),  Balbir Jamwal (general secretary) Dushyant Sharma (vice president), Col. DV Sharma (vice president), Satish Gupta (Manager, indoor Sports Complex) and Shukhdev Singh.

The opening day witnessed preliminary round of the competition in lower age groups of under-10 and under-12 boys and girls. The matches conducted under the supervision of Satpal Sharma, Vikram Saini, Vivek Mehta and Amir Aslam.
