Terrorist killed in Pulwama gunfight

Srinagar, Nov 25: A terrorist was killed in an ongoing encounter with security forces at Drabgam area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.

An official said a Joint team of Army, Special Operations Group (SOG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon-and-search-operation after “specific inputs” about the presence of terrorists in the area.

As such the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot in the orchards, the hiding terrorists fired upon them, triggering off a brief exchange of fire, he said.

He said in the initial phase of a gunfight, one terrorist has been killed and operation is going on. His identity was not known immediately, said the official.
